Configuring the Point-to-Point Protocol (PPP)

Advanced bundle options

The following option defines how long a PPP link must be inactive before it is shut down automatically:

Bundle inactivity timeout
If enabled, this sets the period in seconds for which a bundle must be inactive before its member links are closed. A bundle is defined to be inactive if all network control protocols detect they are idle.

Link inactivity timeout
Determines for how many seconds a multilink bundle can be inactive before null packet fragments will be sent on the member links. This allows the loss of packets or links to be detected. Note that null fragments will not be transmitted if the sending of null packets is disabled.

Send null packets
Whether null packet fragments can be transmitted on a multilink bundle.
