Introduction to MDI

SCO OpenServer 5 MDI configuration

Configuration information for SCO OpenServer 5 MDI drivers and associated devices is provided in Advanced Options Files (AOFs) that describe adapter classes and define the configurable parameters that are used by drivers in that classan .

Each SCO OpenServer 5 MDI driver package must also include a customized lkcfg shell script that obtains the network driver configuration and handles Link Kit configuration and any special-case setup that is required such as downloading utilities.

An optional acfg binary can detect driver configuration information for ISA bus adapters and may write configurations back to the device's NVRAM. The driver's software package includes the source and Makefile for its customized acfg utility; the binary is built by the installation and configuration tools.

See ``Configuring SCO OpenServer 5 MDI drivers'' for more information.
