Labels are a few words of descriptive, static text that identify the contents of a control. Selecting the label must not result in any action.

Use a label to identify a group box, button, or a related collection of data on the screen, for example:

For compatibility with Windows 3.1 or Windows95, capitalize all words in the label and follow the last word of the label with a colon (:).

Left-justify labels that identify group boxes. Note in this Windows example, the group label is incorporated into the group box frame. In SCO Visual Tcl, it is appropriate to place this label left-justified at the top of the group box it identifies:
