State transitions

The Transport Interface has two components:

The state transition rules can be found later in the state tables in ``State transitions''. The state tables define the legal sequence of library calls based on state information and the handling of events. These events include user-generated library calls, as well as provider-generated event indications.


NOTE: Any user of the Transport Interface should completely understand all possible state transitions before writing software using the interface.
