Managing the print service

Once you add your printer to the print service, the printer and print service are ready to accept jobs.

Occasionally, you will need to service the printer. For example, you might need to perform maintenance on or fix the printer, or change the printer configuration.


NOTE: You can perform maintenance remotely using the Host -> Open Host selection. This requires remote access permission on the machine you plan to administer, as described in ``Setting remote access for a user''. As on the local system, non-root and non-system owner accounts require the Administer Printers authorization to run the Printer Setup Manager. See ``Assigning authorizations'' for more information.
