Administering Remote Procedure Calls (RPC)

Troubleshooting RPC

If all administration procedures have been performed correctly and trouble occurs, suspect that an RPC server daemon process (in particular, /usr/sbin/rpcbind) may not have been started, may have died, or may have been killed. Note that, if rpcbind stops, all other RPC services stop as well. Therefore, when restarting RPC, start rpcbind, before starting other RPC servers.
