Examples of ttyadm option settings
The following option settings are recommended for
-b -r 0
Setting count to 0 means
will display a prompt after receiving any character.
This setting is often used with a modem configured for switched carrier,
where bi-directional operation is required.
-b -r 8
Setting count to 8 means
will display a prompt only after eight newlines have been received.
This setting is often used when the modem has carrier detect set
permanently high (``ON'').
This setting is often used with a single, dial-in port monitor.
The getty program still exists in UnixWare 7.
However, modify these applications to use the administration
interfaces available under the SAF.
In particular, for serial port monitoring, ttymon in daemon mode
In addition to the standard port monitors, the
SAF architecture allows new port monitors to be installed by
users and applications.
