Keep your help file as simple as possible, using the sample files and documentation style as models. We have found that a simple and consistent style improves document usability and help system performance. In addition, the information must be readable in a text-oriented browser, such as the character-based help available when running SCOadmin applications in character mode (CHARM). The following elements may not be used in help files:

• embedded graphics or illustrations, including corporate logos

• Java applets or other embedded applications

• frames (frames have a specific use in SCOhelp design)

• any use of color as a design element

• unusual font displays, highlighting, large fonts, or all uppercase letters (except for acronyms and product names)
