Testing SCO OpenServer 5 network adapter drivers

Testing SCO OpenServer 5 network adapter drivers

Setting up the test system

  1. Install the SCO OpenServer 5 Release 5 Enterprise operating system on the master and slave systems, using the ``Fresh'' installation type.

  2. Select Network Card: Deferred to bypass network configuration during the SCO OpenServer 5 installation.

  3. Reboot the system and enter the root password to enter system maintenance mode.

  4. Install the O5ndtests package on both the master and slave systems, following the instructions in the /info file on the HDK CD-ROM or in the ? icon for the O5ndtests package at the HDK web page.

Note that installing this package disables any networking that is currently configured on the system.

  5. The ANT environment is configured during installation by running the following on both the master and slave systems:
       cd /usr/lib/ant
       ./antconf

This configures the machine that contains the card(s) to be tested as the master machine and the other machine as the slave machine.

Configure the ``Remote Root Passwd'' on each system. TCP and IPX tests require it so that telnet and nlogin can be tested properly. This is not configured for you during installation.

  6. Run netconfig as root.

  7. Reboot the system and enter init state 2 (multi-user mode). Make sure your network adapter is detected in the system boot screen.
