RAID

RAID (Redundant Array of Inexpensive Drives) is a technology that provides advanced features such as mirroring and striping for inexpensive devices. RAID is commonly associated with the SCSI driver interface but can be used independently of SCSI; for example, Compaq uses RAID for its IDA drivers.

On SVR5 systems, RAID drivers are implemented with SDI. See ``RAID drivers'' for an overview of RAID drivers and Intro(D2sdi) for a list of entry point routines that are used for RAID drivers.
