Administering systems

Booting the system

Each time you power up your computer, a complex series of steps occurs automatically to boot (start) the UnixWare system. By default, /stand/unix is booted. As part of the boot procedure, a set of processes are started and filesystems are mounted as defined by the system state set as the default state for your system.

Complete information can be found in ``Customizing UNIX system startup'', and in boot(1M) and init(1M).
