Solving filesystem problems

General errors for fsck_s5

The following three error messages might appear in any phase after initialization. Although they offer the option to continue, it is generally best to regard them as fatal, end the run, and try to determine what caused the problem.

CAN NOT SEEK: BLK B (CONTINUE?)
A request to move to a specified block number B in the filesystem failed. This message indicates a serious problem, probably a hardware failure.

CAN NOT READ: BLK B (CONTINUE?)
A request to read a specified block number B in the filesystem failed. The message indicates a serious problem, probably a hardware failure.

CAN NOT WRITE: BLK B (CONTINUE?)
A request to write a specified block number B in the filesystem failed. The disk might be write-protected.
