Release 8.0.0 new features

Linux Kernel Personality (LKP)

No special action is required to install the LKP kernel components; they are installed automatically by the UpdateSet during a fresh or update installation of Open UNIX 8.

The remainder of the LKP product on the Updates CD-ROM, and the additional Linux RPM CD-ROM, should be installed following the instructions found in the LKP Release Notes (relnotes_lkp), under the /info on either the Base Operating System CD-ROM (CD1) or the Updates CD-ROM (CD2).

Note that you'll need at least 1.8GB disk space on your root disk to install LKP and all the packages on the Linux RPM CD-ROM.

LKP documentation is available in the lkpdoc package on the Updates CD-ROM. This package can be installed by inserting the Updates CD-ROM and entering:

   pkgadd -d cdrom1 lkpdoc

Once installed, the LKP documentation is found under the Linux Kernel Personality topic.
