The Enhanced Event Logging System provides an infrastructure with kernel and user level APIs for general logging. EELS provides powerful tools for log analysis, incorporating logging information from existing sources such as syslog, cmn_err and auditing. It also provides tools for log management.
EELS conforms to the following Distributed Audit Service (XDAS) categories as defined by The Open Group:
Filtering functionality is provided by EELS and is not duplicated by supporting ``XDAS Filter Management Conformance''. The XDAS Specification Version 9 is available in full from http://www.opengroup.org/pubs/.
